Play It Forward!
A little more about the scholarship
What Is Play It Forward!?
The Play It Forward! scholarship is a $500 award that aims to reward by enhancing accessibility to positive instructional self-help videos. While numerous self-help videos exist online, our focus is on creating concise introductory videos that provide clear and simple instructions for new wellness or health techniques. Examples of suitable subject matter include acupressure, facial yoga, chair yoga, breathwork techniques, the benefits of emoting with facial muscles (making silly faces), meditation, self-touch practices, qigong or tai chi, sound healing practices, thought experiments, and the utilization of therapeutic tools to reduce stress. By infusing creativity into these topics, crafting a compelling video becomes straightforward with a bit of research and personal practice.
Play It Forward! For You Too
An additional benefit of crafting an instructional video is the opportunity to acquire new knowledge. The essence of Play It Forward! is not only to contribute something novel to others but also to introduce innovative elements into your own life. It encourages the sharing of impactful tools that individuals have discovered for managing stress or anxiety in their daily lives, accompanied by comprehensive explanations of the methods' effectiveness and significance.
Make Information & Instruction Available
Transform education by bringing the classroom to social media. At the heart of the Play It Forward! scholarship lies the belief that information and instruction can be more impactful when widely accessible and free—harnessing the power of social media. Imagine the potential of having lessons and instructions on any subject at our fingertips, disrupting traditional educational models. These videos contribute to a freemium model, offering valuable content to those unable to afford subscriptions or classes, particularly individuals striving to enhance self-care practices. By participating, you provide an invaluable opportunity for those in need, fostering a positive impact on their well-being.
